"We Appreciate Teachers" Contest Closing April 1st – Nominate an Amazing Teacher to Help Students in Need

CHICAGO – Back 2 School America (B2SA), the national non-profit based in Chicago and renowned for their "Build-A-Kit" program providing over ten million vital school supplies to students-in-need, is announcing the last call for accepting teacher nominations as a part of the We Appreciate Teachers annual statewide contest.

25 Winning Teachers will be selected in the statewide contest, and receives:

  • Fabulous champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception honoring them in Chicago.
  • Thirty (30) fully-loaded school supply kits for their classroom. 
  • Personal gift basket to enjoy for themselves.

Anyone may nominate a teacher (including the teacher themself). Teacher must currently be employed by a school within the state.

  • Nomination Deadline: April 1st.

Most people understand that our teachers are burdened with managing large classroom sizes, paid insufficient salaries, and purchase school supplies out of their pockets simply because their students cannot afford them. Teachers across the state do this every year and the disparity of students attaining their vital school supplies is continues to grow. About Back 2 School America

The Back 2 School program was launched in 2007 to address the pressing needs of communities and the inequities in educational opportunities for children. 

In 2015 the nonprofit changed its name to Back 2 School Illinois (B2SI) to reflect the work of the organization. In the summer of 2018, B2SI expanded and launched Back 2 School America, to provide Back 2 School kits to children across the USA. 

Today, B2SA continues to provide children of low-income households with free school supplies to help level the playing field and lessen the financial burden on their families and their teachers. The Back 2 School program has provided more than 350,000 children with their own school supply kit. The organization’s long-term goal is to make sure that all children in the USA are provided with the school supplies they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
